Beetle (Brachycerus ornatus)
They are ground-dwelling in areas of clay soil.
Adults feed on foliage of the lily Ammocharis coranico,
females laying eggs in burrows adjacent to the bulbs.
Larvae live in the bulbs and pupate in soil.
Females: get 1 1/4- 1 1/2inches (3 2/10-
3 7/10cm) long.
Males: get 1 1/4- 1 1/2inches (3 2/10- 3
7/10cm) long.
Status: Unfortunately, these beetles were sent
already in Dry Form, not alive as i originally ordered!
Looking for some live ones/ larvas.
Diet: Larva; Oak,
Chestnut and Birch. Beetles; Apples, Bananas,
etc. especially soft sugary foods.
